She's Finally Back....

I know in my January blog I said I wanted to have an installment at least every month. Well, I’ve blown that one, haven’t I???? Oh, well, I hope I am forgiven, as I lead quite a docile life with not much to report. But now, I’ve got some news to share (finally)!!!!

In February I started a job. I didn’t know how it was going to work out, but I think it’s going to be an OK endeavor. If nothing else, my new job is unorthodox!!

I was introduced to a friend of a friend who was staffing a virtual office. He asked me if I would like to make a little bit of money without leaving my home. Of course, this was one of those “sounds too good to be true” things, but he was giving me a telephone, and it wasn’t going to cost me anything to get started, so I said I’d give it a try. Now, after 3 months, I think it’s going to work out for me!!

So, I work at home, in my pajamas most days, answering telephones and making appointments. The appointment calendar is on the internet, so the guys in the field can check it at any time and see if they have any appointments. I have quite a few co-workers, most of whom I haven’t met. The interesting thing is we all have VOI phones and we can call each other by merely dialing a 4-digit extension. One of the GREATEST things about this job is that I can do it anywhere!! If I want to go to the store or the mall, I just forward the calls to my cell phone and I can make appointments while I’m on the go!! Next week I’m going to visit Katie in Texas and I can take my job along with me!! Of course, this taking it with me thing has its down side too……I am effectively always on duty, but I’m making some pretty good money, so I don’t mind that AT ALL!! So now you know what I’ve been doing with myself lately.

As I said before, I’m going to Texas next week to visit with Katie and Maddy. Steve and I are flying down on Wednesday. We are going to help Katie get her house ready to sell. With Bryan gone, she has some things she can’t do due to her pregnancy. We’re going to paint some rooms, replace some window screens, remove some extraneous things that may make the house look cluttered (like bookshelves and their DVD collection), and just some overall sprucing up. Then, Steve will fly back home the following Monday and Katie and I will embark on another cross-country drive with baby and dog in tow. Katie, Maddy and Nash will be with us for the entire month of May!! I’m so excited about that!! So, anyone looking for a little get-away during May, come on up and visit us!!!

Now that I’m on a roll, I’ve thought of two other items to address in my dual-month blog…

1. There’s a cruise in the plans!! Dad and Mom have decided they want to go on a New England / Nova Scotia cruise. Bill and Deb and Steve and I are already on board (so-to-speak). Deb and I are working on getting some facts and figures together, but we’re thinking of Fall 2011 (so we get to see some of the New England foliage in full color). Anyone interested, just say the word. This includes family and friends near and far….THE MORE THE MERRIER!!!! (Details will follow as soon as we have some…)

2. Steve and I have decided we had so much fun last year, we’re extending an invitation to everyone for our SECOND ANNUAL JULY 4 EXTRAVAGANZA!!!! Start making your plans now to come to beautiful Lancaster South Carolina to celebrate Independence Day with all the trimmings!! This year we’ll even invite our neighbors to eat with us and maybe they’ll bring even MORE fireworks than they did last year!!! Let us know if you’re interested. Beds will be on a first come / first served basis…..Ha ha ha…

I know you all find it surprising that I can be so darned verbose (NOT)!!!! I’m glad I got to catch everyone up. I know it’ll be a while before I find time to blog again, between my trip to Texas and having month-long house guests (I’m SOOOOO excited!!!).
